Bailey’s complex, richly colorful abstract paintings and mixed media works have been widely exhibited.Included in this collection are abstract landscapes in which Bailey looks at the natural environment, interpreting the beauty of his Hoopa Valley homeland in northern California and Indian lands in Oregon and New Mexico. Among the mixed media pieces are collages that invite the viewer to consider the many ways we tell our stories.
Some of these paintings were part of the Hallie Ford Millennium show in 2000. More recent works were included in the Western Oregon University Alumni Show and Beaverton Broadway Past Winners’ Exhibit and were exhibited at Guardino Gallery (Portland), Luke’s Frame Shop (Portland), and Northwest by Northwest Gallery (Cannon Beach, OR). They can be seen today in Don Bailey’s studio in Portland, Oregon.
